Membership in the Sanilac County Genealogical Society (SCGS) entitles you to the rights and privileges of a member, (i.e. voting rights and candidacy for holding office in the society), at least nine newsletters per membership year, opportunity to submit queries and/or articles for the newsletter, participation in special projects, attend educational meetings (open to all), camaraderie, and opportunities to learn with other people interested in genealogy.

 

Meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of the month, except December, January and February when meetings are temporarily suspended. They are held in various locations throughout the county. Meeting locations, times and topics are announced in the newsletter and posted on this site, as well as via our membership email list.

The Society is a member of the Michigan Genealogical Council which undertakes many projects and offers educational opportunities for both the novice and experienced researcher.
